We have our winners, although it was a crazy 2019 NBA Finals. It was a fun series involving the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors, but the group from Canada managed to close this one out with a Game 6 win at Oracle Arena.
Following the Warriors defeated the Raptors in Game 5 in Canada, many believed the Western Conference powerhouse would be able to tie things up in Game 6 and really make things interesting at a Game 7. While his ACL tore in Game 6 however, his Achilles ruptured at Game 5.
With the accidents to two star players, Golden State simply couldn’t keep up with the electrifying Raptors. Kawhi Leonard was able to control making 2019 NBA Finals MVP honors. He helped Toronto win everything in his first season .
Leonard scored 22 points. He was a no-brainer for MVP, his time after being named Finals MVP with the San Antonio Spurs earning the honour. He is just the third player in league history to win NBA Finals MVP with two teams.
